Welcome to Belgium 🇧🇪 In this post,  we are gonna share with you some impressions from our last week’s Belgium trip. The fabulously historic architecture and charming canalside in Bruges, the top notch french fries at the beautiful medieval Grand Place square in Brussels, the Moules Frites in Antwerp as well as the wide variety of different beers and chocolates (despite being a Swiss chocolate lover 🍫) will be kept in best memory 😋

Here you can see the St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral ⛪ in Brussels during walking city tour.

This is bloc A of the the Europa Building, also known as the Residence Palace in Brussels 🚩 This futuristic building was opened in 2016 as the new headquarters of the European Council. It was built in the form of a glass lantern-shaped structure of a cube 🏢 Due to the massively huge egg-shaped ball in the inside of the building, it has been nicknamed as the “Space Egg”. Since only members of the council and the european leaders are allowed to enter, we had to enjoy this beauty from the outside 😎 This art-deco style building looks pretty amazing especially during night.

This is the Atomium 🚩 The Atomium was constructed as the centerpiece on the occasion of the World Exposition of Brussels in 1958. The unique architecture of the Atomium is made of 9 massive metallic spheres representing atoms which are connected by tubes with escalators and lifts. Some of the metallic spheres can be visited, however, we did not have enough time to visit the inside.

This is the “Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert”, a shopping arcade in Brussels 🇧🇪 If you also love chocolate, this is THE place to be 😊 the arcade is packed with the best and most known Belgian chocolatiers. In terms of architecture, it somehow reminds us of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan that we visited back in December. If you wanna compare it, check out our NYE blog post.

The photos below are taken in Bruges 🇧🇪 Bruges is the ultimate picture-postcard place in whole Belgium, because it’s laced with canals and full of evocative step-gabled houses 🏡 De Grôte Markt (Market Square) from where we shot this picture, is very popular and it’s lined with plentiful of petite restaurants and bars to tantalise yur appetite with fresh Belgium Chocolate or freshly-caught fish. Of course, Bruges is overloaded with tourists, but this beautiful medieval city with its well-preserved architecture and lovely canals make up for the whole tourist thingy.

This was taken in Antwerp at the secret “Vlaeykensgang” alley, which was built in 1591. Walking through the gate makes you feel like as if you have journeyed back in time. Antwerp is a super hip, fun and underrated city in Europe – highly recommended to all the Hipsters out there 🙂 ! And if you’re more into glamour-bling-bling: Antwerp is still the place for you, since it is the world’s most important diamond center.💎
