As many others, we are also often visiting Konstanz, the beautiful German city on the Lake Constance. Especially for the Swiss people living on the other side – it’s just a short drive or train ride to Konstanz. The prices in general, not only for food but everything else you can imagine are drastically lower than in Switzerland. So no wonder,  streets are completely flooded by the Swiss bargain-seekers 🙂

Anyways, today we want to give a short review about one of our favourite restaurants in Konstanz. If you’re often visiting Konstanz, you’ve probably heard about the Tatsumi Sushi Bar. (Or not.)

In short: It’s fantastic place, with a lovely Japan-kinda atmosphere, freshly made sushi and friendly staff.

We have started visiting Tatsumi a couple of years ago – it was indeed a hidden gem! But I have just recently realized that it has become a super busy place (hidden gems usually don’t last for too long). But don’t worry, it’s still a gem 🙂 If you don’t make a reservation beforehand, there is no way that you could get a seat at the bar or even a table. So book in advance, at least on the weekends!

As for the prices: As a Swiss, you feel like in paradise. You’re getting high-quality sushi for a fraction of the price that you pay back home. Honestly, if you want good quality sushi (and fill your belly) you’ll usually have to pay around 60-90 CHF in Zurich. At the Tatsumi, you’re getting your belly stuffed for around 35 CHF (incl. drinks and dessert).

So we had what we always have first as a starter: Gyosa

Followed by the main dish: a fantastic sushi selection as well as Tempura Udon. As boring as it sounds, but we most often order the same thing, since we’re such in love with it 😀 haha

Last but not least: Black Sesame Ice Cream with fresh fruits

See you again, Tatsumi 😉
