What a wonderful wellness weekend we spent at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in Geneva.
We’d say, its huge spa complex and pool area, the privileged location right on the Lake Geneva and its fantastic gourmet restaurants makes it the best choice to stay in Geneva.
Speaking of restaurants: Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can expect for your “most important meal of the day” a lavish buffet with the “yummiest” things you could ever imagine. Ooh, and at the end course, a gourmet buffet with fine desserts is waiting for you 🙂 Definitely the perfect way to start your Sunday in Geneva.
Probably one of the best Sunday brunches we ever had – I mean, eggs Benedict with fresh truffle, or freshly made waffles – where else can we find that?
The Welcome
Isn’t that the perfect way to be greeted in your room: a specially arranged welcome pack by Kempinski with the best chocolate on earth: Läderach. Okay, maybe we are biased – because Läderach chocolate clearly drives us crazy 😋
The Room
Surely, the Kempinski boasts a panoramic location with lake / fountain view, fabulous bars and restaurants, a peaceful day spa (Le Spa, see later in this post) and the biggest indoor swimming pool in Geneva, but honestly one of my favourite feature of this property is the bed.
It must have been that glorious combination of mattress, sheets, blankets and cushions that allowed us to float the night on cloud 9. Seriously, you need to try it – otherwise, you will never know what we mean 🙂
Apart from the perfect bed, the 30m² room has a sitting area and a spacious marble bathroom with bathtub and shower. And also the standard features and amenities of a 5 Star Hotel very obviously were not missing: flatscreen TV, iPad, desk, Nespresso Machine etc.
Swimming Pool, Luxury Spa and Gym
After a work-out in the gym, which features all latest-generation equipment, a cardio suite and a yoga room – you can plunge into the beautiful 20m long swimming pool. According to Kempinski, this is the largest private indoor swimming pool in Geneva.
Then we also enjoyed the Spa called “Le Spa”, which truly is the place of tranquillity and relaxation. Le Spa’s array of services do not only include treatments and soothing massages on 1400m² of relaxation but also a beautiful sauna and steam room.
Overall Impression
Overall the Grand Hotel Kempinski is an outstanding 5 Star luxury hotel. The Kempinski boasts with fantastic restaurants, a great spa, extremely comfortable beds, heavenly-delicious Sunday brunches, great customer service and of course also direct access to the Lake Geneva.
