Hello Tuscany 🇮🇹It’s no secret that Tuscany is my favourite Italian region. From breathtaking landscapes, fantastic wine, olive oil, and amazing food, to the character of the medieval towns like Siena or San Gimignano. Let’s dive in, and enjoy some shots from our most recent trip.

Toscana View

I’d say, this is a shot of a typical Tuscan landscape: a long cypress alley to the top of a hill, surrounded by jaw-droppingly beautiful vineyards. This was taken on a property close to the tiny medieval town of San Gusmè in the province of Siena. The enchanting beauty of this place is the perfect setting for the creation of the sumptuous wines that are being produced here 🇮🇹.

Exploring San Gusmé with the drone. As mentioned earlier, San Gusmé is a tiny, but picturesque walled medieval village. With tiny, we mean tiny: 89 people currently live there.

San Gimignano

Welcome to San Gimignano – another gem in Tuscany! When you visit this pretty, small medieval hill town, you will understand why UNESCO has declared this town a “World Heritage Site” It’s simply stunning! I can only say, visit to the Tuscany region of Italy requires a visit to San Gimignano.

Sneaky peak through the 13th-century city walls of San Gimignano – a walk along the perimeter of the city walls is something not to be missed. In the background, you’ll spot some olive trees, vineyards and obviously a wonderful blue sky.

San Gimignano - Landscape

San Gimignano is kinda touristy, especially because daytrippers from Florence tend to fill up the streets during the day. But it’s totally worth staying overnight because at night it has a whole different atmosphere which is absolutely worthwhile to experience – especially as soon as the mustard-coloured buildings are going to be bathed in warm and artificial light. Btw: we stayed at the Hotel Leon Bianco, a cute little hotel right at the main square Piazza della Cisterna.

Siena

Welcome to Siena! NO JOKE, but this is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to! Been to hundreds of cities, but this one ranks somewhere in the top 3! Why? Just have a look below….

Siena - Piazza del Campo

The Palio di Siena is a twice-annual horse-race festival that sees the Tuscan city’s various districts compete in a race. Cannot even describe it – you have to visit it to understand…..insane and beautiful!

Duomo in Siena ⛪ the beautiful gothic-style cathedral lies in a piazza above the Piazza del Campo – inside, the floor is actually an incredible piece work: a spectacular inlaid marble mosaic floor in alternating stripes, black and white (these are the symbolic colors of Siena).
