Hello Budapest

The first city trip of 2019 has lead us to Budapest, Hungary. For this trip, we booked our rooms at the Hilton Budapest through Booking.com. We were super excited about our stay, because beforehand we read on tripadvisor.com, that the rooms at Hilton have been ranked among the top 5 hotel rooms in the world with the most beautiful views….to be honest: the view has even exceeded our expectations. Especially panoramic views of the historic capital and River Danube at night absolutely stuck us. But more on that later 🙂

After 18 months, I had the chance to visit Budapest again. The Hungarian capital is famous for its thermal baths, ruin bars, fairytale architecture, wild parties and immensely affordable food –  and much more.

Impressions of a magical city

The Thermal Baths

Budapest has many thermal baths. The Szecheny is one of the biggest natural hot spring spa baths in Europe. It gets a little crowded during high season, but it still is a great experience to soak in the hot water.

The Hilton Budapest

This is not a paid post or whatever – as always we booked and paid everything ourselves. Still, I just want to highlight, that the Hilton Budapest is a great accommodation choice. A high-end hotel located in the historic Buda Castle District with unbeatable panorama over Budapest. Ooh, and there is en executive lounge as well – But find out yourself below 🙂

The Food

When people consider traveling to Budapest, the food doesn’t seem to come up on the list often as a reason to visit. It’s more the architecture, the thermal spas, the ruin pubs, etc.  But for sure, the Hungarian cuisine has so much to offer. Lángos, Gulash, Kürtőskalács just to mention a few.

Goodbye, and see you soon

There is an amazing festival taking place in Budapest every August. It’s supposed to be one of the biggest music and cultural festivals in Europe and it’s called Sziget. So maybe I’ll be back in Budapest sooner than initially expected 🙂
